Green Mountain Fly Fishing Day Camp

Green Mountain Fly Fishing Day Camp is where kids between 10 - 13 years old learn fly fishing fundamentals and put them to the test on some of Vermont's finest fisheries!

Over the course of this 5-day camp, kids will learn...

- different types of equipment -
- rod rigging -
- sport fish in Vermont -
- various fly casting techniques -
- essential knots -
- reading different types of water / where are the fish? -
- wading safety -
- fly presentation -
- basic entomology -
- fly tying -
- river/angler etiquette -
- fisheries conservation -

Our goal is to give the kids a well-rounded understanding of various fly fishing skills in a format that is fun and unique. Each day we'll meet at the Troutfitters and let the weather/fishing conditions dictate where we fish that day. On days of inclement weather, we will spend our day filling our fly boxes with new patterns, watching fly fishing films and brushing up on our knots.
